The “Edison” Sculpture is a union of form and function. The function is a full color digital / programmable sign. The form is a part of a greater whole, part of the sculptural landscape that makes up the Holland Neighborhood / Jackson Square Park Green Campus. It consists of the COR-TEN Steel, sculpted jade glass and light like its sculptural counterparts across the street. The sculpture is a glass arc with louvered steel fins that reveal and conceal the glass wall as one moves around it; relating to the top of the “Innovation Field” backstop. The sculptures stand mirrored, facing each other; similar but different in a dialog across distance.
