Corten steel, sculpted jade glass, fiber optic light

In Flux is complex and elusive: it transforms depending on the viewer's spatial relationship to it and the time of day at which it is viewed. Steel layers form a sphere within which a laminated glass infinity line with alternating fiber optic color lighting symbolizes the diverse and shared experiences of the community. Benches encourage gathering and conversation. As the viewer approaches the sculpture the steel sphere dominates, but viewed from afar the steel armor reveals the internal glass infinity. This fluctuating relationship between the internal and external reflects the dynamic yet stable nature of the Holland neighborhood.
