Sculpted jade glass, steel, video
used to describe an image on a computer or television screen that is made up of pixels, especially one that is unclear or distorted.
This installation takes that which is known in our everyday world, water, and presents it through video projection. The viewer experiences the virtual, pixelated version of water through a mechanical filter of glass sandwiched between layers of steel. This filter, or wall, appears as a gentle wave and diffracts the water imagery into abstract, atmospheric light. The accompanying sound sets the tone. These elements transform a virtual form and emotive concept into a tangible experience.
