Cor-ten steel, sculpted jade glass, fiber optic light
10' x 8' x 4'

The Edison sculpture is a union of form and function. The function is a full color digital and programmable sign. The form is a part of a greater whole, the sculptural landscape that makes up the Holland Neighborhood and Jackson Square Park Campus. Edison is made of Cor-ten Steel, Green Jade Glass and light, complementary its sculptural counterparts across the street. It consists of a glass arc with louvered steel fins that reveal and conceal the glass wall as one moves around it, reflecting the form of the Innovation Field backstop. The sculptures stand mirrored, facing each other as similar structures with their own unique features, part of a dialog across distance.
